Nutraceutical and cosmetics industries have grown rapidly in the recent years. Progression of technology has enabled more effective and improved nutraceutical and cosmetics formulations to be developed. The use of these products to accomplish desired therapeutic effect has found its place in clinical practices. Furthermore, the wide use of nature-based nutraceutical and cosmetics products whether as complementary medicines or as personal care products has increased interests among researchers, healthcare providers and even users regarding their efficacy and safety. Evidence-based practice underlying the use of nutraceutical and cosmetics products should be warranted. In addition, regulation system for these products should be strengthened to ensure product quality and safety.
The Faculty of Pharmacy is pleased to announce the 1st International Conference of Nutraceutical and Cosmetic Sciences (ICNaCS 2013) that will be held on 23nd– 24rd October 2013 at Atlet Century Hotel, Jakarta Indonesia. The theme for the inaugural event is “Evidence-based practice: pharmaceutical aspects underlying health and beauty”, selected to promote and encourage evidence-based practice in nutraceutical and cosmetics application. ICNaCS 2013 will enable researchers, academicians, practitioners, industry players, health professionals, policy-makers and students to gather latest knowledge and to interact.
The objectives of the conference are:
Gathering evidence gained from scientific methods for practice
Establishing linkage among scientists/researchers/practitioners/manufacturers in the fields of nutraceutical and cosmetics sciences
Updating current discoveries and challenges
Encouraging translational research We are now calling for submission of abstract in related areas for oral and poster presentation.
