Pediatric Dentistry

The Pediatric Dentistry Specialist Program at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia, provides comprehensive and holistic education for the treatment of children aged 0–18 years and individuals with special needs. This program applies an etionostic approach, which is an etiology-based diagnosis through clinical investigation and biomolecular research support. With a study load of 48 credits (3 years), graduates of this program will earn the title of Pediatric Dentistry Specialist (Sp.KGA). The program was accredited “A” by LAM-PTKes in 2018 and is currently undergoing re-accreditation in 2023.

Requirements

Prospective participants are required to meet strict academic and administrative requirements to ensure readiness and commitment to this educational program. The requirements are as follows:

  • Take the TPA (Academic Potential Test) and English language exam (SIMAK UI)
  • Take the specialization exam, including a written test, interview, and psychological test/MMPI
  • Complete the registration form at FKG UI
  • Possess an active professional insurance policy
  • Maximum age of 35 years (40 years for TNI/POLRI or participants on study leave)
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at both undergraduate and professional levels
  • Possess a valid Registration Certificate (STR)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of clinical work experience as a general dentist, evidenced by a Practice Permit (SIP)
  • Permission letter or recommendation from a direct supervisor (hospital, community health center, clinic), also applicable for TNI/POLRI personnel
  • Family consent letter with a Rp10,000 stamp duty
  • Statement letter or funding contract from an institution, for institution-sponsored participants
  • Attach medical check-up results and a drug-free certificate from a government hospital
  • Undergo psychological examination at RSUPN Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo
  • Certificate from an ophthalmologist stating no color blindness and normal stereoscopic function
  • Certificate from an ENT specialist stating no hearing impairment
  • For participants on study leave, attach a statement letter with a Rp10,000 stamp duty regarding willingness to return to their original region
  • The selection decision is final and cannot be contested.
