Master in Basic Dental Sciences

The Master’s Degree Program in Dental Sciences prepares students to develop dental science and technology, including the development, screening, and application of technology in the fields of Oral Biology, Dental Material Sciences, and Forensic Odontology, while producing innovative and applicable research outcomes. The duration of study for the Master’s Degree Program in Dental Sciences is 4 semesters with a study load of 40–42 credits.

Requirements

Hold a bachelor’s degree (S1) in dentistry, other health sciences, or in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, materials engineering, and metallurgy from an accredited state or private university.

Pass the SIMAK UI entrance exam (Academic Potential Test and English Proficiency Test) in accordance with Universitas Indonesia’s requirements.

Specializations

The program offers several specializations to support academic expertise, including the following.

  1. Oral Biology
    Prepares competent experts to utilize oral biology and molecular biology technology in applied research integrated with other dental fields.
  2. Dental Material Sciences
    Develops the ability to evaluate, screen, study, and develop dental materials.
  3. Forensic Odontology
    Prioritizes active learning through lectures, group discussions, mortuary rotations, laboratory rotations, and research activities in the field of forensic dentistry.

Registration Requirements

Prospective program participants are expected to meet the following academic and administrative requirements. The requirements are as follows.

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in dentistry, health sciences, or related fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, materials engineering, and metallurgy from an accredited university.
  • Pass the SIMAK UI entrance exam, which includes the Academic Potential Test and English Proficiency Test, according to the regulations of Universitas Indonesia.
