Conservative Dentistry Specialist

The Conservative Dentistry Specialist Program at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia, is an educational program focused on the management of diseases and abnormalities of hard dental tissues, pulp tissue, and periradicular tissues. Education in this program encompasses preventive, promotive, curative, regenerative, and rehabilitative approaches to restore the function of the stomatognathic system comprehensively, in line with the latest developments in dental science and technology.

This program is organized based on the curriculum established by the Indonesian College of Conservative Dentistry, with a study period of 6 semesters (3 years) and a total credit load of 75 SKS (credits). Graduates of this program are expected to possess excellent clinical competence and be able to serve as educators, researchers, dental health service managers, and professional counselors in the field of conservative dentistry.

Requirements

Prospective participants of the Conservative Dentistry Specialist Program at FKG UI are required to meet a number of academic and administrative requirements to ensure readiness and commitment to pursuing specialist education professionally and with integrity. The requirements are as follows.

  • Graduates of dentistry from accredited public or private universities
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 at the undergraduate and professional levels
  • Passing the SIMAK UI selection, which includes academic ability tests, English language tests, and specialized tests according to the applied field

A biomolecular-based caries therapy approach aimed at increasing the effectiveness of caries lesion management through understanding the biological mechanisms of demineralization and remineralization.

Exploration and application of the latest restorative materials used in modern conservative dentistry practice to support the success of long-term therapy.

  • Aesthetic Restoration in Digital Dentistry

Application of digital technology in aesthetic restoration, including the use of intraoral scanners and CAD/CAM systems, to enhance precision and patient comfort.

  • Regenerative Endodontic Treatment

Training in regenerative endodontic procedures that prioritize modern biological approaches to revitalize damaged pulp tissue.

  • Micro-Endodontic Surgery

The Conservative Dentistry Specialist Program is one of the Specialist Education Programs in Dentistry that studies diseases/abnormalities of hard dental tissues, pulp tissue, and periradicular tissues, along with their preventive, promotive, curative, regenerative, and rehabilitative treatments, in an effort to restore stomatognathic function in accordance with the development of science and technology. To produce standardized graduates, the specialist dentistry program in Conservative Dentistry refers to the curriculum and study period established by the Indonesian College of Conservative Dentistry, thereby producing graduates who can act as professionals, clinicians, providers and managers of dental care centers, scientists/educators, and researchers, as well as counselors. The study period is 6 semesters or 3 years with a total of 75 SKS (credits), covering specialized conservative dentistry and related fields.

Requirements

  1. Dentistry graduates from public/private universities (minimum GPA 2.75)
  2. Passing the SIMAK UI Entrance Exam (Academic Ability and English Language Assessment) and Specialization Exam
