Biosketch

Dr. Natalina, DDS, MDS (Periodontics Consultant), Ph.D. is a lecturer in the Department of Periodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia. She completed her dental education at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Padjadjaran (FKG UNPAD), and earned her Specialist in Periodontics from FKG UI. She obtained her Consultant Certificate from the Indonesian College of Periodontology and subsequently pursued her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) at FKG UI.

Her professional career began at the Penajam Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, after graduating as a dentist. In 1999, she began her Specialist in Periodontics education and, upon graduation, joined Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) as a clinician. Since 2004, she has been an active lecturer in the Department of Periodontics at FKG UI and practices at the FKG UI Dental Hospital (RSKGM).

In the organizational field, Dr. Natalina is active in the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI) and the Indonesian Association of Periodontists (IPERI), including serving as a board member for PDGI East Jakarta, IPERI Central, and IPERI Jakarta to date. Since 2023, she has also served as a board member for the PDGI Jakarta Regional Office. Additionally, she was active in the Association of Indonesian Dental Education Hospitals (ARS-GMPI) from 2017 to 2022 and is a member of the Asian Pacific Society of Periodontology (APSP).

In the academic field, she teaches courses in the regular and international undergraduate dental programs, the professional dentist program, and the Periodontics Specialist program. She also serves as an examiner for the doctoral (S3) program at FKG UI.

Her contribution to the quality development of national dental education is realized through her role in the National Competency Examination for Dental Students (UKMP2DG), serving as an expert panelist, internal and external examiner, and central supervisor for UKMP2DG to date.

Her areas of expertise and research interests include periodontal tissue regeneration, dental implants, and the link between periodontal disease, diabetes mellitus, and dental implants. These topics also form the basis for the research and teaching she conducts, particularly in the fields of periodontics, dental implants, and diabetes. For her more than three decades of service, she was awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya 30 Years from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
