Prof. drg. Lisa R. Amir, Ph.D. is the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia. Previously, she served as the Head of the Department of Oral Biology and the Chair of the Dental Research Ethics Committee at Universitas Indonesia. She earned her dentist degree (drg.) from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia in 1999 and her Ph.D. in Oral Cell Biology from the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), Vrije Universiteit, Netherlands, in 2007.
Her international career began as a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Maryland, USA, from March 2005 to March 2006. From 2016 to 2017, she undertook an academic visit to the Department of Maxillofacial Orthognathics, Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), Japan, and received research funding from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
Currently, she is also active as a board member of the South East Asia Association for Dental Education (SEAADE), Vice Chair of the Indonesian Oral Biology Association (PBOI), and a member of the Forum of Indonesian Recognized Ethical Review Committees (FIRREC).
